One of Yorkshire’s flagship business parks is providing the perfect showcase for the attractiveness and durability of Jutland slates from Cembrit. The New Pennine Business Park in Huddersfield combines high specification office developments with appealing landscaping that is complemented by the Jutland’s graphite shades. The sleek consistent effect produced by these large uninterrupted roof slopes perfectly complements the red brick and sand lintels used on the vertical facades.
Prominently positioned close to the commercial centre of Yorkshire, the business park was built by Marshall CDP, one of the most successful family owned companies in the North of England. The eight two storey buildings were completed over an eighteen month period with Jennings Roofing of Pontefract installing the Jutland slates.
“Although this was a large project with attention to scheduling of deliveries necessary, having a local depot within 15 miles of the site, meant that the deliveries went according to plan” says Gary Woodhead, Brand Manager of Cembrit’s Northern Distribution Centre. “This is a good example of how our specialised service and local availability benefited all concerned.”
Jutland is an attractive flat, square edged fibre cement slate that is manufactured to the highest European standards. Jutland slates are lightweight, pre-holed, suitable for all types of projects, easy to handle and install, durable and are an economic alternative to natural roofing materials.
Jutland slates are manufactured using portland cement together with a non-asbestos formulation of superior blended synthetic and cellulose fibres. Jutland slates are pigmented during production and are fully compressed. They are finished with a high quality, semi-matt acrylic coating to both faces and all edges.
Jutland slates are manufactured in accordance with a quality assurance system to ISO 9001 and to the requirements of BS EN 492 product specification for fibre cement slates and their fittings. Jutland slates are compatible with the most common building materials and are finished with a high quality, semi-matt acrylic coating which is on both faces and all edges. They are manufactured to a high quality and a good, cost effective alternative to natural slate.
